The Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Reporting Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing VF’s reputation with external stakeholders across the world through the development of ESG disclosures that showcase the company’s Purpose, to power movements of sustainable and active lifestyles for the betterment of people and our planet.
As an integral member of VF’s ESG Reporting team, the ESG Reporting Specialist will have a key role in the development and publication of VF’s annual Environmental & Social Responsibility Report, including ensuring alignment with ESG standards and frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, ISSB, etc.). This role will also be responsible for leading the research and development of the company’s responses to ESG-related surveys, ratings, rankings and disclosures (e.g., CDP, ISS, Fashion Transparency Index, etc.). A successful candidate for the ESG Reporting Specialist position will have strong writing, research and interpersonal skills as this role will require both close collaboration with teams from across the global enterprise in addition to independent work related to research and content development for disclosures.
How You Will Make a Difference
What You Will Do:
- Support the development and publication of VF’s Environmental & Social Responsibility Report. Develop all content for the Appendix sections of VF’s Environmental & Social Responsibility Report, including the data tables and all relevant ESG reporting framework indices (e.g., GRI).
- Lead the annual revision and submission of VF’s CDP Climate Change and Water disclosures. Manage the routine tracking, documentation and updates of VF’s profile on key investor ESG ratings and rankings platforms (e.g., ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.).
- Provide support to VF and brand teams on the completion of industry, media and NGO surveys Lead the completion of environmental & social disclosure requests from external stakeholders.
- Help to ensure the accuracy and consistency of VF publications with ESG-related content.
How You Will Do It:
- Support project management aspects of VF’s annual Environmental & Social Responsibility Report including updating VF’s internal reporting site and outreach for content collection.
- Help facilitate internal content reviews for the Environmental & Social Responsibility Report.
- Engage with teams across VF and the brands to identify new content for public disclosure. Collaborate with VF’s ESG Data Governance Manager to compile all data points for the Environmental & Social Responsibility Report and related disclosures and ensure accuracy.
- Work with external consultants and the sustainability team to draft responses for the qualitative components of VF’s CDP Climate Change and Water disclosures. Additionally, research changes to the CDP methodology annually, lead the internal review process and oversee submission. Research emerging and annual updates to relevant ESG reporting frameworks and standards.
- Lead the research, development and internal review for responses for key environmental and social disclosure requests from external stakeholders (e.g., KnowTheChain, Corporate Human Rights Benchmark, Word Benchmarking Alliance, UNGC Communication on Progress, etc.).
- Manage VF’s ESG ratings and ranking tracking process and develop internal memos, presentations, etc. as needed for leadership on VF’s ESG performance.
- Work with VF’s global communications team as needed to review information and data in press releases, website stories, and other forms of media for consistency with VF’s ESG reporting. Oversee the management and updating of VF’s annual ESG voluntary disclosure calendar.

- Track and meet internal and external ESG disclosure/response deadlines in a timely manner. Create well-written internal & external communications that follow VF’s style guidelines. Continuous improvement of VF’s internal management systems for ESG reporting. Implementation of reporting best practices to improve outcomes and deliver value.
- Create value for VF and the brands by identifying and providing solutions for disclosure gaps.
Skills for Success:
- Years of Related Professional Experience: 3 years
- Educational Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, corporate social responsibility, or related program. Equivalent years of experience in a substantially similar industry may be considered in lieu of a degree.
What We Expect You Already Know:
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills are a must.
- Familiarity with the key concepts of corporate sustainability, ESG, CSR, etc. is preferred. Working knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, ISSB, etc.). Sophisticated analytical or problem-solving techniques to identify root causes of issues. Experience communicating to audiences who are not familiar with ESG in a persuasive manner. Superb written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate information succinctly. Self-motivation and self-starter skills, able to work independently with limited supervision.

- May require travel up to 10%
Hiring Range: $74,304.00 USD - $92,880.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
