Decoding Regulations
The Decoding Regulations series is designed to help business navigate and understand evolving sustainability regulations. Each session focuses on breaking down complex regulations, such as the EU CSDDD and CSRD, and providing practical guidance on compliance, reporting, and integrating sustainability into business strategies. The series also covers the latest international developments, including outcomes from major upcoming climate (COP29) and nature (COP16) conferences, to help companies stay informed and prepared for regulatory changes.

BSR at COP29
COP29 will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan from November 11-22, bringing together business, government, and civil society actors at a critical moment for people and the planet.
Unofficially named the “finance COP,” the conference’s main aims are to establish a post-2025 global climate finance goal, to galvanize countries to deliver ambitious nationally determined contributions (NDCs) in 2025, and to begin implementing previous decisions on topics like loss and damage, finance, and adaptation.
Business has an important role to play at COP29 in advocating for ambitious NDCs. In turn, these same NDCs are critical in driving business to deliver on their climate goals. Furthermore, the private sector can play a pivotal role in ensuring finance flows where it’s needed most.
Join BSR at COP29, where we will be focused on advancing business action on the Just Transition, Climate Transition Plans, Corporate Adaptation Plans, and 1.5°C value chains.
