Transport and Logistics | Climate Change
As efforts increase to reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement, every sector of every business will be expected to contribute. National and local legislation, such as the banning of diesel-powered transport in some cities, will put pressure on the trucking sector to accelerate the transition to low-carbon fuels.
Despite the urgent need for uptake of low-carbon, sustainable fuel technologies in trucking, the landscape is still in development and navigation has proven to be a complex challenge for many companies. However, there is a clear opportunity for companies in the trucking value chain (fleets, shippers, OEMs, truck manufacturers, and fuel suppliers) to reduce the technological barriers to adoption and increase the demand for sustainable fuels.
BSR's Future of Fuels is a business-led collaboration working to build demand and promote the adoption of clean energy technology for trucking. We focus the efforts of leaders across the value chain to identify common challenges and foster progress on sustainable energy sources for vehicles with technology-neutral solutions including insights, tools, and events.
Current Future of Fuels members are: Amazon.com, Inc.; Chevron Corporation; Comcast Corporation; Cummins Inc.; Danone Group; Neste Corporation; PepsiCo, Inc.; Royal Dutch Shell; United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS); U.S. Gain; and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
In this webinar, we will:
- Present the Future of Fuels initiative;
- Explain how different companies (shippers, trucking companies, energy providers) can benefit from this unique collaboration; and
- Answer any questions you may have around potential membership.
We will also hear from Patrick Browne, Director of Global Sustainability at UPS, on how Future of Fuels has helped UPS in its clean trucking journey. Please register your interest. We look forward to seeing you!
