BSR is pleased to announce its support of the Responsible Business Forum on Climate Innovation, which will take place in China from 23-24 May. Bringing together more than 400 global government, finance, and business leaders, Global Initiatives will be hosting the event for the first time in Haikou, China.
The adoption of the Paris Climate Agreement calls for an unprecedented effort to reduce man-made greenhouse gas emissions based on nationally determined contributions and provides a roadmap for global transformation towards a zero-carbon, climate-resilient future. To deliver on this, all stakeholders must come together to accelerate and scale innovation and climate action.
In order to create cross-level, meaningful partnerships for climate action, this high-level forum will bring together multinational companies, such as SIG, Interface, CLP, Alibaba, IKEA, and Mars, as well as global drivers of sustainability, such as the Rocky Mountain Institute, IPE, the Stockholm Environment Institute, WWF, and SEE Foundation.
RBF China will largely take the form of presentations and plenary discussion panels. The Forum will present cutting-edge climate innovations from large corporations, start-ups, cities, and other stakeholders. Discussions will be structured around the partnerships, investments, and policy changes needed to accelerate and scale these innovations for a climate-positive future.
Delegates to the forum will have the opportunity to interact with key players in the field through breakout sessions in Climate Innovation Working Groups. These Working Groups will take a deeper look at the specific challenges and solutions from a sector-focused perspective. Every working group includes presentations from innovative solution providers and discussions with an expert panel from international organizations, policy makers, and companies. The roundtable discussion is structured around the partnerships, investments, and policy changes needed to accelerate and scale these innovations for a climate-resilient future.
